On Thursday, the 18th, it was National Poem In Your Pocket Day. That’s where you take a poem you’ve written or a favorite poem, put it in your pocket and share it with others.
For my class, I wrote a poem for each of my students. It described them and some of their favorite things. They put those poems in their pocket (or left them on the floor). I ended up printing out some extras but that’s okay. My students created some of their own poems for friends, family members, themselves, and even me.
Overall the children had a blast sharing poems with each other.
