I feel pretty good about passing 37,000 words for the month of July. I also did some editing as well. My goal was to write at least a 1000 words a day. So my best month of writing ever, we’ll see what I can pull off for August, now back to writing.
I mentioned earlier this month that I wanted to get back to writing. Well, as I’m writing this, I just past the 30,000 word mark on my newest novel. A little perspective, Broken Bridges was just under 25,000 words. I’m a little shocked at how much I’ve written, but it’s been a lot of fun. I haven’t had really any writer’s block either. It’s a young adult novel with the working title Ginger. Well back to it…
I’ll be at Poets In The Park tomorrow, Saturday the 19th from 11:00 to 5:00. It is at Anderson Park in Redmond. Haiku Northwest is doing a reading from 1:20 to 1:55. We will be reading from No Longer Strangers: Haiku Northwest 25th Anniversary Anthology. I’ll be reading my poems and some from other members, who can’t be at the reading.
There are many other events, activities, and readings. Here’s a link regarding the event and directions if you are interested: http://www.graceguts.com/poets-in-the-park Thanks! After far too long of not being able to consistently write, during July, I've averaged well over a thousand words a day in my novel. I've also been able to return to writing poetry every day. It is great feeling…
On Saturday, July 19th, I’ll be at Poets in the Park at Anderson Park in Redmond, Washington. Here is some more information about the event: http://www.redmond-reporter.com/community/264274861.html
I’ll being helping out at the Haiku Northwest table. I’ll be one of contributors reading from No Longer Strangers: Haiku Northwest 25th Anniversary Anthology. The time of the reading is not confirmed yet. So more information to come… School is out, and my classroom is cleaned up. I did some cleaning around the house. I read a couple of books.
I've procrastinated long enough, back to writing… I’ll be doing another book signing at J. J. Books in Country Village, on Saturday, May 24th, from 1:00-3:00. Stop on by for a visit. Here’s the website: http://www.countryvillagebothell.com/
I really enjoy doing signings there. It’s a nice little bookshop, and I almost feel like I work there. Customers ask me questions, when they come in regarding books. So I look forward to Saturday! My publisher is doing a promotion for Mother’s Day. Until May 11th you can use the promotion code MOTHER and get 20% off of Broken Bridges or any Black Rose Writing title.

For Haiku Northwest's 25th anniversary, SoulFood Coffee House is having a poetry reading for their new book No Longer Strangers. I have three poems in the book and will be reading them. No Longer Strangers Reading on April 17 Haiku Northwest members are reading at SoulFood Poetry Night, hosted by Michael Dylan Welch and Tanya McDonald, on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 7:00 pm.
